A nearly 3-acre plot has been cleared to make way for a strip of commercial storefronts and a storage warehouse across the street from Splash water park in Nocatee.
The six storefronts, which are currently up for lease, will face Crosswater Parkway and reach a maximum height of 30 feet, according to engineering drawings filed with St. Johns County Building Department.
The 123,000-square-foot storage facility will sit directly behind the commercial strip and reach a maximum height of 60 feet, the drawings show. The project also includes 64 parking spots.
The original proposal was for 11,875 square feet of commercial space and an 89,000-square-foot storage facility.
In August, Blackstone Engineering, on behalf of owner SONOC Company, LLC, applied to reduce the total size of the storefronts to 9,773 square feet and increase the footprint of the storage warehouse to 123,200 square feet, records show.
The county signed off on the changes.
The development, dubbed Adventure Trail, is located between the Starling Assisted Living facility and a St. Johns County Fire Rescue station No. 18.
