DONATIONS POUR IN FOR FAMILY OF ST. AUGUSTINE BOAT CAPTAIN
A respected and visionary leader, he helped guide the department through a major transformation—from a volunteer operation to a full-time, professional fire and emergency services agency.
Hall began his career as one of the first certified paramedics in the State of Florida. He rose through the ranks of SJCFR, serving in multiple roles before taking on the position of Fire Chief.
During his tenure, he directed one of the fastest-growing departments in the state. Under his leadership, SJCFR expanded staffing, opened new fire stations in high-growth areas, and transitioned 14 volunteer stations to career-staffed operations.
More than 150 personnel were hired under his direction, along with major investments in vehicles and lifesaving equipment.
“Chief Hall was a true visionary whose leadership fundamentally transformed Fire Rescue in St. Johns County,” said County Administrator Joy Andrews. “His legacy of innovation, dedication, and compassion will continue to inspire those who serve.”

SJCFR Fire Chief Sean McGee echoed those sentiments. “Chief Hall’s vision and commitment to public service left a lasting legacy on this department and the entire community. It’s an honor to lead the department he helped build.”
