Iconic Los Angeles-born burger chain Fatburger is set to sizzle in Clay County as part of a major offensive into Florida.

Known for its fresh beef and customizable toppings, Fatburger is slated to open a new location in Orange Park later this year, company officials announced.

The patty purveyor is slated to build out a former Dairy Queen space at 348 Blanding Boulevard.

Founded in Los Angeles in 1947, Fatburger has built a cult following over the decades, with a brand that blends old-school diner vibes with modern flavors.

Menu favorites include “The Fatburger” — a thick, juicy patty stacked with toppings like chili, bacon, eggs, or onion rings — as well as Fat and Skinny fries, hand-scooped milkshakes, and plant-based options.

The chain’s enduring appeal has been boosted by its connection to pop culture and celebrity backing. NBA legend Magic Johnson and rapper Kanye West have both been involved with the brand as franchise owners or investors, helping elevate its visibility on a national level.

Fatburger is aggressively expanding its presence in Florida, aiming to open 40 new locations across the state over the next decade.

In addition to Jacksonville, the new locations are planned for locales including Orlando and Tampa.
