God Save the Bus.
The former owners of St. Augustine’s now shuttered Kings Head British Pub are offering up their famed double-decker bus for free to anyone willing to haul it away and find it a new home.
If no one comes forward, they wrote on a Wednesday Facebook post, the iconic vehicle will meet its end in a local scrapyard.
The former proprietors of the Anglo-outpost said the property has been sold to new owners who have little interest in the rusted but regal bus that stood sentry along Phillips Highway for many years.
“The new owner gave us 5 days warning that he would scrap the bus unless it was moved,” the Kings Head crew wrote. “We contacted as many interested parties as we could. Unfortunately because of the very short time frame no one has been able to adopt the bus.”
The Kings Head raised its last pint in September after more than three decades in business.
In addition to the bus, the now defunct dive also also has an authentic British phone booth for sale, according to a separate Facebook post.
But for now, the native Britons are most concerned about the proud red relic and its fate.
“Suffice it say both me and Mum are heartbroken that the bus is doomed to such a grizzly and unfortunate end,” they wrote.
The property’s new owners are planning an eatery, according to the Facebook post.

Good luck to the new owners, I wonder what they will be selling when they close down?
