Jersey Mike’s is planning its first location in Ponte Vedra Beach, according to a report.
The popular sandwich chain will switch on the slicers inside a bustling retail strip at 832 AIA, What Now Jacksonville relayed, citing county records.
No timetable for an opening has been announced.
The outpost is being launched by local businessman Andrew Maider, who runs several Jersey Mike’s franchises in the area, What Now reported.
Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jersey Mike’s hatched as a humble sub shop known for its authentic East Coast-style sandwiches made with fresh ingredients.
Over the years, the brand has become famous for carving meats and cheeses to order, grilling hot subs fresh on the spot, and topping each sandwich “Mike’s Way” — with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and spices.
The menu includes cold subs featuring turkey, roast beef, ham, prosciuttini, and provolone, as well as warmed variants like cheesesteaks, chicken parms, and grilled portabella mushroom.
Now operating over 2,300 locations across the United States, Jersey Mike’s has grown rapidly in recent years through a franchising model.
