Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis predicted a fresh flood of Northern transplants if socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani is ultimately voted in as New York City mayor in an upcoming election.

The left-leaning candidate already upset the odds by toppling former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary — and polls have the Ugandan immigrant surging across the five boroughs.

“If this socialist mayor candidate wins in New York City, you’re going to see real estate values skyrocket in Palm Beach because people are going to get out of that city,” DeSantis predicted this week after Mamdani’s shock primary win.

His election, he said, would likely spur a surge in applications from NYPD cops to Florida departments.

“He doesn’t think that we should have law enforcement in dangerous parts of the city, that you should send in social workers,” DeSantis said. “See how that works out for you, it ain’t going to work out well. So, they’ve made a lot of dumb decisions, and we’ve benefited from it.”

A total of 64,577 Empire Staters exchanged their driver’s licenses for the Sunshine State version in 2022, a record-breaking surge propelled by the pandemic.

Mamdani has called for a price freeze on all of New York City’s rent-stabilized apartments, free city busing by 2027, and has been a critic of Israel.

“Tonight we made history,” Mamdani said after his Tuesday triumph. “In the words of Nelson Mandela, ‘It always seems impossible until it is done.’ My friends, we have done it. I will be your Democratic nominee for the mayor of New York City.”

Current New York City Mayor Eric Adams — a Democrat turned independent — has cast himself as a moderate bulwark against Mamdani’s insurgency.

Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa will be the likely Republican nominee.

The election will take place on Nov. 4.
