Students returned to class Monday after the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office evacuated them while probing a bomb threat.
The department said they were alerted to the issue by someone on a “dark web” website who saw a “photo of a backpack and language about a ‘few bombs’ being placed around Creekside High School.”
The SJSO’s Real Time Intelligence Center found that the image was associated with a 2011 bomb threat probe in Spojane, according to an agency Facebook post.
“Out of caution, students and staff will be evacuated to a safe location while a K9 conducts a search of the school,” the department said Monday morning.
The area was vetted, no threat was found, and students returned to class.
