You’ll soon be able to walk in to Walk-On’s.

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, a mini-chain boasting a star-studded group of investors, will celebrate the grand opening of its St. Johns location on Monday, October 6.

Located at 495 Durbin Pavilion Drive, the new outpost will be the brand’s eighth Florida restaurant. The day will kick off at 9:45 a.m. with coffee, beignets, and giveaways, including a chance to win free Walk-On’s for a year. The restaurant will open for service at 11 a.m.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee will be on hand to help launch the opening day charity drive benefiting First Tee of North Florida, his longtime philanthropic partner.

“Walk-On’s has been incredibly well received by guests in Florida, so continuing our growth in the state is a natural next step,” said Brandon Landry, founder of Walk-On’s. “The team at R&R Brands has played an important role in growing this brand, and their ability to execute an excellent restaurant makes them the right partner to bring Walk-On’s to an entirely new market.”

The menu at Walk-On’s features Cajun classics like Pepper Jack Boudin, Crawfish Étouffée, and Beignet Bites, along with other popular items such as the Ahi Tuna Salad, Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos, and the Hickory Burger.

Founded by LSU basketball walk-ons Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, Walk-On’s has grown with support from an ownership group that includes former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks, and Clemson University head football coach Dabo Swinney.

The St. Johns location went dormant for several years before the project resumed, culminating in next month’s unveiling.

“We can’t wait to open our doors in St. Johns and become the go-to spot where friends, families, and fans come together,” franchisee Shane Morrison of R&R Brands said.

Brees, a Hall of Famer who vaulted to stardom as a signal-caller for the New Orleans Saints and won a Super Bowl in 2010, is investing in food brands beyond Walk-On’s.

The former Purdue Boilermaker is also teaming up with Landry to open a mini-burger chain called Smalls, with plans to launch a location just off County Road 210 near the Fountains at St. Johns.
