The St. Johns County culinary power couple behind Valley Smoke and the Fish Camp mini-chain are reeling in their next big catch: Trout Creek, a new $2 million restaurant planned off State Road 13 in St. Augustine.
Benjamin and Liza Groshell, the co-captains of Southern Table Hospitality, received county approval to begin construction on the latest addition to their growing portfolio.
The project will rise on a 9.87-acre vacant parcel at 6595 State Road 13 North, directly across from Trout Creek Memorial and Marina on a tributary of the St. Johns River.

Contractor Coastal Atlantic Inc. will construct a 6,689-square-foot restaurant accompanied by a 2,167-square-foot outdoor dining area, records show.
Inside, the restaurant is designed to seat about 438 guests. Plans call for a fully outfitted kitchen to support a menu that is expected to align with the group’s coastal-Southern identity, though no official food details have been released.
For many Northeast Florida diners, the Groshells’ name is already a familiar one.
Their umbrella group, Southern Table Hospitality, has overseen some of the region’s most popular dining spots.

The four Fish Camp restaurants—Julington Creek, North Beach, Palm Valley and St. Augustine—have become neighborhood anchors known for fresh coastal cuisine.
Valley Smoke, Marker 32, Dockside Seafood Restaurant and Billy Jacks round out the extended family.
