A local family is receiving an outpouring of community support as they prepare for their courageous 3-year-old daughter, Ariyah, to undergo complex heart surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Described by her family as “talkative, spunky, and full of life,” Ariyah, of St. Augustine, is known for her love of sunny days, chicken nuggets, and the children’s show Bluey.
Despite her energetic personality, she has been living with a combination of serious congenital heart conditions, including atrioventricular septal defect, mitral valve regurgitation, and cor triatriatum, according to a GoFundMe campaign.

“She has shown a bravery that leaves us in awe,” her mother, Megan Harrill wrote. “To the world, she’s a vibrant little girl. To us, she is everything — our miracle, our motivation, and the reason we keep moving forward.”
Her upcoming procedure in Philadelphia aims to repair her heart and address valve complications.
In the days leading up to the surgery, community members have stepped in to support Ariyah’s family as they navigate the logistical and financial challenges of traveling for specialized care.
Expenses related to transportation, lodging, and time away from work have added to the strain, prompting a wave of donations, shares, and messages of encouragement.
According to a recent update, the family secured a hotel for their initial stay after facing limited availability due to a large event in the area.

They are still hoping to transition into accommodations at the Ronald McDonald House Charities once space becomes available.
Because their current lodging is farther from the hospital than anticipated, they will also need to rent a car to travel to and from appointments and surgery.
Supporters continue to rally around Ariyah, helping ease the burden so her family can focus on her treatment and recovery.
“Thank you for continuing to walk alongside us through Ariyah’s journey—we feel it more than you know,” her mom wrote.
