St. Johns County football talent is flying off the recruiting board.

From Power Five flips to Ivy League smarts, several local standouts made their college decisions official as June turned to July.

Ponte Vedra High headlined the action with two defensive playmakers heading to the next level.

Reece Beck, a towering 6-6, 250-pound defensive end, committed to Rutgers, joining the Big Ten ranks in Piscataway, New Jersey. Beck notched eight sacks in part-time duty last fall while playing lacrosse for the Sharks.

His teammate Talan Babin, a 6-1, 220-pound linebacker with 161 tackles over the past two years, is heading to Old Dominion.

The Monarchs, who compete in the Sun Belt, get a tenacious tackler with NFL bloodlines as his father, Jason Babin, was a two-time Pro Bowler and now coaches at his son’s school.

At Bartram Trail, two key players made late-June flips to stay in the Sunshine State.

Arthur Lewis IV, a dynamic athlete, changed his commitment from Liberty to UCF, bringing his speed and versatility to the Big 12-bound Knights in Orlando.
