Dunkin’ will celebrate the groundbreaking of its first Hastings location on Friday, July 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., according to a press release.
The event will take place at the site of the future outpost at 8800 Church Street and is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will feature participation from St. Johns County Commissioners, Hastings Main Street Group representatives, and members of the local farming community.
In a nod to the area’s agricultural heritage, a tractor will be used in place of traditional shovels for the ceremonial dig.

The event will offer guests complimentary Dunkin’ iced coffee and donuts. There will also be branded giveaways and opportunities to take photos with Dunkin’s mascot, Cuppy.
The new location is owned by franchisees John and Jean Griffey and Brian and Beth Ramos of St. Johns Donuts.
Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 14, 2025, with the restaurant expected to open by the end of the year. The building design has been developed in coordination with the City of Hastings to reflect the character of the rural community, organizers said.
The restaurant will span 1,600 square feet and is expected to employ approximately 25 crew members. Daily operating hours will be from 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As part of Dunkin’s Next Generation design, the store will feature a modern, streamlined layout and a front-facing bakery case. It will include a drive-thru, a dedicated mobile order pickup area for Dunkin’ Rewards members, and a digital order status board for added convenience.
