Fire Tears Through Crescent Beach Garage, Spreads Into Home

Firefighters quickly brought a residential blaze under control Friday afternoon in the 5000 block of Pelican Way in Crescent Beach, where flames tore through a garage and extended into a nearby home.

According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, Engine Company 6 arrived on scene and found flames shooting from the garage and carport area.

Crews launched an aggressive attack to contain the flames, which had begun spreading into the structure.

The main body of the fire was knocked down, and a primary search of the home confirmed no one was inside.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

In response to public speculation, Fire Rescue spokesperson Chris Naff confirmed to The Citizen that the blaze was not caused by an electric vehicle or related charging equipment.

No evacuations were necessary, and no other properties were affected.
