A Jacksonville woman has been arrested on multiple felony charges after investigators say she stole nearly $100,000 from an elderly client while working as her caregiver in St. Johns County.
According to a warrant affidavit filed by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Stacy Ann Gordon, 36, was taken into custody Jan. 24 at a residence in Del Webb, a 55 and over community in Nocatee.
Detectives began investigating after the victim, 87, reported money missing from her account.

Authorities say a Capital One bank account was fraudulently opened on Feb. 25, 2024, using the victim’s personal identification information.
Investigators allege the account was linked to Gordon’s Companion Care, a business owned by Gordon, who had been employed as the victim’s caregiver.
Between April and November 2024, more than $98,075 was transferred from the victim’s account into the fraudulent account, according to the affidavit.
Records obtained through subpoenas — including bank documents, phone and internet data, and location information — allegedly tied the activity to Gordon’s residence and devices.
Investigators also cited video surveillance that they say shows Gordon using a bank card opened in the victim’s name.
Gordon is charged with scheme to defraud $50,000 or more, grand theft between $20,000 and $100,000, criminal use of personal identification information, and exploitation of an elderly person involving more than $50,000.
All charges are felonies.
The case remains under prosecution in St. Johns County.
