A brazen crew of car break-in specialists struck outside Burn Boot Camp locations in Nocatee and OakLeaf early Tuesday in what law enforcement sources described as a coordinated scheme.
At least six vehicles had their windows smashed outside the fitness chain’s Nocatee location, leaving behind glass shards and rattled owners.
Items were taken from the cars, according to sources.
St. Johns County sheriff’s deputies responded with forensics teams documenting the shattered windows across the parking lot.

Sources told The Citizen that vehicles were also burglarized at a Long Leaf Parrkway Burn Boot Camp Tuesday morning.
Investigators are collecting camera footage from nearby businesses at both scenes as they probe the crimes.
The fitness chain — and similar businesses — have been targeted before in St. Johns County, sources said.

Thieves often strike gyms because they know drivers are unlikely to return to their cars for set periods of time during workouts.
The Citizen will update this story as more details become available.
