The project is slated to begin on March 14. (St. Johns County)

Residents using County Road 210 between Greenbriar Road and Cimarrone Boulevard should brace for delays from March 14th to March 23rd.

The disruptions are part of a major construction project aimed at widening the road and improving traffic flow in the area, county officials said.

Construction crews will begin diverting westbound traffic onto a newly built section of the road starting on March 14th.

The following week, eastbound lanes will also be rerouted onto the new roadway. During this transition, drivers will face restrictions, including limited left turns due to elevation concerns.

Right-hand turns will be required for entering and exiting neighborhoods, and U-turns may be necessary in some cases.

Temporary traffic signs and message boards will be installed throughout the area to guide drivers through the changed traffic patterns.

The $40 million project includes the addition of 2.3 miles of four-lane roadway, multiple new signalized intersections, sidewalks, and bike lanes.

Residents and commuters are advised to exercise caution during this period and plan their travel outside of peak hours to minimize delays.

For more information on this and other ongoing projects, the public can access the county’s Capital Improvement Projects dashboard. Additional inquiries can be directed to St. Johns County Public Works at 904-209-0266.
