A Neptune Beach woman suspected of multiple caught-on-camera thefts was taken into custody this week, officials said.

Kaitlyn Thurston, who was captured on several home surveillance cameras, was seen stealing packages, attempting to take bicycles, and burglarizing a vehicle—all in the early hours of June 1, police said.

Video clips shared by Jacksonvillebeaches.info and later reported by The Citizen show the woman, dressed in jean shorts, scoping out bicycles in a dark front yard, apparently checking to see if any were unlocked.

When she was unsuccessful, she returned to the street, accompanied by a male accomplice.

In another clip, she is seen stealing a package from a porch and disappearing into the night.

The incidents sparked outrage from residents online, with some demanding a thorough probe and others warning the pair to avoid their homes.

On June 5, in a coordinated effort between the Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Division, officers located the female suspect at her residence, officials said.

She confessed to the crimes during questioning, and stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Jacksonvillebeaches.info boss Chuck McCue previously noted an uptick in bike thefts across the area.

Police continue to investigate the involvement of the male suspect seen in the videos. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Neptune Beach Police Department.
