St. Johns County deputies were called to the scene of a majestic owl that had somehow ensnared itself in the grill of a Toyota sedan that was parked at a local church.
The bird was distressed but alive, officials said.
With the help of Animal Control personnel, deputies gingerly extracted the owl from the grill.
It was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic and is expected to make a fowl recovery.
