Former Nease High School star quarterback Marcus Stokes is drawing interest from prominent Division 1 programs after an eye-popping season at Division II West Florida, according to On3Sports.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback piled up 3,664 passing yards and 40 touchdowns this season, establishing himself as one of the premier quarterbacks in Division II.
Stokes is also a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, the tier’s equivalent of the Heisman.

Florida State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Syracuse have all expressed interest in his services, On3 reported.
A four-star recruit out of Nease, Stokes had originally received a scholarship offer from the University of Florida in 2022.
But the Gators rescinded their offer after a video surfaced showing Stokes rapping along to a song containing a slur.
While teammates backed Stokes at the time, the clip drew national headlines and significant backlash.
Stokes took responsibility for the incident at the time and publicly pledged to rebuild his career.
He followed through on that promise after joining the West Florida Argonauts, where he has since flourished.
According to On3Sports, Stokes has attracted interest from 26 schools overall and is currently weighing his options.
