Another chain hotel coming to St. Augustine as tourism grows

They found a suite spot in the Ancient City.

Marriott International is opening their first SpringHill Suites location in St. Augustine, according to paperwork filed with the county.

The chain hotel is slated to rise at North Ponce de Leon Boulevard and West Carlos Avenue near the San Sebastian River.

Plans indicate that the hospitality giant will operate on 1.7 acres and host 83 parking spots.

The brand operates more than. 500 hotels across the country, including five existing spots in Jacksonville.

  1. How is the traffic going to be controlled here??? This is already a completely congested corner with the circle on A1A and beach traffic!!! Who is overseeing this rampant overbuilding in a town made for carts and horses??!!

  3. Before the Hilton Garden Inn was built, it was known that the property to the north of it would ultimately also become a hotel.
