He had to make a decision Sooner or later.
Nease High School standout linebacker Jacob Curry has officially committed to the University of Oklahoma, flipping his pledge from Northwestern after a late recruiting surge brought national attention his way.
Curry, known for his sideline-to-sideline speed and football IQ, initially committed to Northwestern early in the recruitment cycle, valuing its strong academic reputation and early belief in his potential.
But as his senior season progressed, so did the interest from powerhouse programs across the country.

During the highly anticipated Nease vs. St. Augustine rivalry game, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell was spotted on the sidelines in Ponte Vedra and personally extended an offer to Curry that night.
The linebacker was also offered a spot at Ohio State, currently the nation’s top-ranked program.
But the tackling terror ultimately opted for a collegiate run in Norman over Columbus and Tallahassee, among others.
“I’m home,” he write in making the selection official on X.
Curry logged 101 tackles, eight sacks, seven pass breakups and two forced fumbles as a junior while helping the Panthers notch an undefeated record last year.
