Acting on a tip, St. Johns County deputies searched a defunct commercial property on US 1 South Wednesday for the remains of a St. Augustine woman missing since 2022.

Relatives of Laura Bryant have alleged on social media in recent days that her body was encased in paving at a property at 2575 US 1 South in St. Augustine.

They did not specify how they ascertained those details, and they remain unconfirmed as of Wednesday evening.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook about Bryant’s disappearance Feb. 14, writing that she hadn’t been heard from since December 2022.

“Laura lived in St. Augustine but information suggests she may have moved to Lake City or another area of Florida,” the post stated.

The agency descended on the property of interest, which formerly housed a pool company and car dealership.

“The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching a property near the 2500 block of US-1 South related to the search for 44-year-old Laura Bryant,” SJSO wrote in new Facebook post Wednesday.

A woman claiming to be Bryant’s sister wrote on Facebook that she was last seen with her boyfriend prior to vanishing.

The Citizen will be updating this story as details emerge.
