Vandals smashed a window at a downtown St. Augustine restaurant overnight, according to the Ancient City Brunch Bar Facebook page.

The popular eatery — located just off the Old City’s iconic central plaza — posted a picture of the pulverized pane with shards covering the sidewalk.

The business was unable to open on Tuesday due to the damage.

“Today, we are devastated,” they wrote. “Due to an act of vandalism, we are unable to open our doors. Our hearts are broken—not just for the damage done, but for the incredible staff and loyal customers who make this place feel like home.”

The restaurant indicated that it will have to spend the day repairing the damage, and planned to open back up on Wednesday.

“We will press on. We will clean up, rebuild, and come back stronger—because this business is more than just a space; it’s a community,” they wrote.

The restaurant stated that there is video of the incident and that the St. Augustine Police Department is on the case.

Irate supporters ripped the perpetrators, and said they hoped for an arrest in the case.

“Thank you for your support, your kindness, and your belief in us,” the restaurant wrote. “We’ll see you all tomorrow, ready to serve and grateful for each and every one of you.”
