They’re mourning Maggie.

A dog who was rescued from a raging St. Augustine home fire on New Year’s Day has died, according to a GoFundMe post.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to the early morning blaze and managed to pluck the pooch from the burning residence.

“The dog was removed and care was initiated by crews,” the agency wrote in a Facebook post.

The wounded animal was taken by St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies to an emergency veterinary care physician, according to the Wednesday night message.

Sadly, a subsequent GoFundMe post revealed that the pup, Maggie, had passed away.

“Late yesterday, our friends and neighbors experienced unthinkable loss as an electrical fire quickly consumed their home and took the life of their sweet pup, Maggie,” the campaign’s organizer wrote. “Thankfully, all humans made it out without harm, but everything they own is gone in the blink of an eye.”

The push has raised more than $4,500 thus far, with donations continuing to pour in Friday.

“They will be on a long road of recovery as they put their lives back together, so anything at all you may be compelled to contribute will go a long way,” the post read.
