Is this Ponte Vedra Beach or Long Beach?
A wall ringing the sumptuous oceanfront home of Ponte Vedra Beach entrepreneur and philanthropist Jay Nault has been defaced with graffiti, prompting a pro-active response from the angered owner.
A Facebook user posted several pictures of the ghastly green garble marring a wall on the property immediately next to heavily trafficked Mickler’s Landing.
Respondents decried the vandalism, expressing surprise that the generally pristine area would draw such unseemly blight.
To the surprise of the group, Nault himself vaulted into the discussion and thanked the user for alerting him to the defacement.
“This is is my wall,” he wrote. “Not exactly the best start to a new year, but thanks for posting this as I cannot see the beach access side of the wall from my house. I’ll get someone to remove this in the next couple days – I’ve found the best way to respond to clowns like this is to remove their scribbles as soon as possible.”
Startled posters thanked Nault for taking ownership of the situation and promising to remove the splatter.
The University of South Florida graduate, who made his fortune in real estate and storage facilities, was recently lauded for donating $10 million to his alma mater for the establishment of the Nault Center for Entrepreneurship.
