This could be the most potent air attack of the year for the beloved but hapless Jacksonville Jaguars.
A band of distraught Cat fans launched a GoFundMe campaign to call for the firing of General Manager Trent Baalke — and plan a dramatic stadium flyover with that very message at an upcoming game.
“This man can not continue as the Jaguars GM any longer,” organizer “Wayne Weaver” wrote in his pithy but powerful call to action amid an abysmal 3-11 season.
Fans of the franchise will note that Wayne Weaver was part of the ownership group that successfully brought the NFL team to Jacksonville in 1993.
Weaver and his partners sold the Jaguars to current owner Shad Khan in 2011.
The fundraiser initially sought to purchase a billboard calling for Baalke to beat it — but financial considerations led to the aerial audible.
A total of 32 donors raised $1,825 — with one deep-pocketed shadow backer shelling out $500 alone.
That surpassed the initial target of $1,600 — and the shadowy Mr. Weaver said that was enough to get the propellers whirring.
“I pivoted to doing the aerial fly by, like the New York Giants have done 2 weeks in a row,” he said, “However with our budget we can now afford to do one of the options I will post pictures of below, and I’ll let you guys decide which ones best and then go from there.”
The insurgent posted three pictures of different banner formats, and called for feedback before drawing up the play.
“You guys let me know, and thank you once again,” he wrote.
