Private clubs will no longer be the sole province of Ponte Vedra Boulevard.
Prominent oilman and influential conservative figure Alex Cranberg is planning a new restaurant and members-only club on a waterfront N. Roscoe Boulevard property, The Citizen has learned.
The Ponte Vedra Beach resident, who purchased the 1.34-acre parcel at 301 N. Roscoe Blvd for $4.1 million last month, will launch the project under Shark Tooth Dining LLC.
The eatery and club, Cranberg exclusively told The Citizen, aims to convene some of the area’s most eminent figures.
“The owners of Shark Tooth Dining will create an innovative new restaurant and club for Ponte Vedra,” he said in a statement. “Its purpose is to serve the community in an inviting and beautiful space. Its membership will include some of Ponte Vedra’s most interesting and prominent residents and visitors.”
One of the nation’s most ardent proponents of school choice, the Aspect Energy chief said additional details on the project will emerge in the new year as his vision solidifies.
The property was the former site of Lulu’s restaurant, and has remained unoccupied since the eatery closed in 2021.
Perched along the Intracoastal Waterway, plans indicate that the restaurant will seat a total of 207 guests both indoors and out and that the site will include 69 parking spots.
Cranberg — who spoke alongside vice president elect J.D. Vance and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at a July conference — owns a home on Ponte Vedra Blvd after moving to the First Coast from Colorado roughly 11 years ago.
His wife, Cathy Cranberg, holds the chief executive officer position at Aspect Energy.
A graduate of the University of Texas and Stanford, Cranberg donates to pro-school choice causes and founded the Alliance for Choice in Education.
The organization has funded more than $100 million in scholarships for low-income students to access private schools.
