A fundraiser for a standout Nease athlete who cracked a vertebrae when a weight fell on top of her has raised more than $15,000.
Rising senior Izzy Knight broke her L1 vertebrae during a routine workout in March and underwent a grueling 4 hour surgery after the accident, her family wrote in a Change.org post.
Knight, who placed 6th in the state for Olympic and 7th for traditional this year in her weight class, is now rehabilitating from the injury.
“Izzy is leaning on her deep faith to get her through these challenging next few months,” he family said. “We want to come alongside her family to help ease the financial stress and burden they will incur. Any donation will be so appreciated. If you cannot donate, please considering sharing this page. Above all, Izzy needs your prayers. Pray for strength and comfort as she works toward her comeback to the sport she loves so much! Let’s lift Izzy up!“
