One man was killed and another severely injured after a car wreck in Putnam County Thursday, officials said.
A 76-year-old man was driving a pickup truck south on Reaves Avenue at 2 p.m. while a second vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old Crescent City man, traveled west along SR 20.
The older man veered into the westbound lanes of SR20 and was hit by the second truck on the left side of his vehicle.
Witnesses called 911 and emergency crews rushed to the scene, where the 76-year-old was pronounced dead.
The other driver continued hurtling west after impact before hitting a sign and coming to a stop.
He suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
