A 64-year-old St. Johns County man died early Saturday morning after he rear-ended a semi-truck on I-95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victim and the truck driver were both traveling north near County Road 210 around 12:55 a.m. at the time, FHP said.
The victim did not “maintain a safe distance” behind the semi and rear ended the vehicle.
The 64-year-old, who has not been identified, was rushed to St. Vincent’s hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
